Child-care provider: “From what they told me, (the union) was going to represent home day-care providers too, and they would lobby against changes that would be harmful to licensed home day-care providers, like lowering the number of children we are allowed to care for.”
Union could benefit from pending legislation
A union that claims to represent 7,000 Kansas day-care facilities did not participate in any of the hearings regarding a piece of legislation that would alter regulations for day cares in the state, according to the legislator who carried the bill on the floor, Sen. Laura Kelly, D-Topeka.
