Committee looks at tightening late-term abortion laws in Kansas
The House Federal and State Affairs Committee heard testimony today on a bill that would close loopholes in Kansas' late-term and partial-birth abortion laws.
The legislation is sponsored by more than 20 representatives, and would change the definition of what a viable fetus is, create certain anonymous reporting regulations, and strengthen Kansas’ partial-birth abortion law so that its wording reflects language that has already been declared constitutional by the Supreme Court.
